It follows the line of the Duffryn, Llynvi and Pencader Railway
It then follows the line of the Rhondda and Swansea Bay Railway
It then follows the line of the South Wales Railway
It then follows the line of the Carmarthen to Aberystwyth line
It then follows the line of the Lampeter, Aberayon and New Quay Light Railway
The journey ends at the closed station of Aberayon
