Yes, the present station is slightly to the east of the original station. The Wikipedia article on the route just has Llanhilleth as a closed station - I hadn't realised it had reopened, not being familiar with the area. I've clarified the original post.

If I may so bold as to add a little clarity into matters, albeit a little late in the day, the original station site of Risca was situated half a mile away from the site where the current railway station of Risca and Pontymister is situated, as was the case with a number of the stations that were opened in the 2008 reopening programme such as Rogerstone, Cross Keys and Llanhillieth. The only station that was built on the original site appears to be that of Newbridge which was built on the site of the former station and its coal yard.
The next closed station appears also not to have been posted which is that of Cross Keys, which was also was on a different site to the station that was opened in 2008.

It then follows the line of the Macclesfield, Bollington and Marple Railway
It then follows the line of the Manchester to Stafford Line
It then follows the line of the Biddulph Valley Line
It then follows the line of the Stoke to Market Drayton Line
It then follows the line of the Wellington and Drayton Railway
It then follows the line of the Stafford to Shrewsbury Line
It then follows the line of the Stafford and Uttoxeter Railway
It then follows the line of the Crewe to Derby Line
It then follows the line of the GNR Derbyshire and Staffordshire Extension.
It then follows the line of the Birmingham and Derby Junction Railway
The journey ends at the closed station of Maxstoke

Chorlton-cum-Hardy is the site where the Manchester Metrolink stop called Chorlton is now situated....and very well patronised it is...

Just checked the above in an actual book (remember those - the papery things we used to use before t'internet!)
The present station was opened in 1892, and is 3/8 of a mile east of the original which was towards Manchester and therefore not on our route. Therefore:

Well done for noticing this matter and you now have all the "brownie points" back that you lost when the matter of the new Manchester Metrolink site at Chorlton came into play at the other end of the Fallowfield Loop Line
