Please note that I have a mid-morning visit to my consultant planned for 1030 on Wednesday, which may involve a period of time afterwards at Macclesfield Hospital whilst a scan of sorts and various blood tests are made.

OK, with the previous warnings playing heavily on my mind and in the best Alan Davies/QI tradition, I'll give you both a laugh by stating the obvious:-

Just back from Macclesfield Hospital and my visit to the consultant and matters seem to be back on track. No scan required, just a series of blood and other tests performed.

However, I am advised to take matters quietly for the next 24 hours and to retire to my bed at a normal time tonight...

Talyllyn Junction?

Is not that the station that was situated where the Merthyr and Brecon Railway was approaching its junction with the Mid-Wales Railway and the line that we arrived at Brecon Free Street station was the Neath and Brecon Railway.

I know that the actual junction of Talyllyn Junction was of a triangular shape but the position of the small railway station of the same name appears to be on the other line that I referred to in the paragraph above and my actual engineering line map of that area is rather the worse for wear as it must have been used constantly when it was in the hands of the engineering railway staff at the time.

I am now pleased to report that from a telephone conversation that I received on Thursday morning from someone connected with Ancient Monuments in Wales, there was once a station on the Mid-Wales Railway called Talyllyn Junction (MWR) that was closed in 1878

Indeed this is so, but my earlier efforts in recent days were to establish the position and closure date of Talyllyn Junction (MWR) platform that closed as long ago as 1878.

Groesfford Halt was closed in 1962 and was situated between the Brecon stations and Talyllyn Junction (MWR)

Llangorse Lake Halt was closed in 1962 and was situated between Talyllyn Junction (MWR) and Trefeinon, as you stated above.

Howsoever, I did not feel like interceding upon these two matters as I was somewhat "spent" over the last 48 hours. Perhaps any future journeys made northwards or southwards along the Mid-Wales Railway will reflect all this information.
