As a result of turning over my hard-copy draft too soon, to make the above posting, I omitted to note there were still two closed stations at the foot of the previous page.....:oops:<(

Horbury Junction..........closed in 1927
Horbury Millfield Road....closed in 1961

The York and North Midland Railway went into Normanton station, but there was a chord from that line to Wakefield Kirkgate which was also used as a connection to the Manchester and Leeds Railway, on whose line we are now upon. (There was a L & Y line from the Horbury area to Barnsley that appears to have junction platforms at the Horbury Junction station that closed on 11th July 1927.)

Howsoever, that particular station of Horbury Junction and the following station of Horbury Millfield Road which closed on 6th November 1961 should be viewed as being on this line, situated between Wakefield Kirkgate station and Horbury and Ossett station
