Hereford Hay and Brecon

Milhalf and Whitney look to be the same station - wiki calls it Milhalf but the summer 1949 Western Region time table has Whitney on Wye. The OS map of around the same date shows only one station. It shows also an (unnamed) station at Glasbury

A Railway Clearing House map of 1905 calls it Whitney on the Wye

Anyway Eardisley comes next

Oh dear..we appear to be at odds again. from Three Cocks Junction, on the Hereford, Hay and Brecon Railway, my records show Hay-on-Wye then Milhalf.

What was the name of the railway that Glasbury-on-Wye and Whitney-on-Wye were situated on ?

Glad to see you boys are playing nicely again. Having had one or two issues regarding wikipedia i also found this most useful.

I could be wrong here, but...

Six Bells Halt (closed 1912)

Not to be confused with the station of the same name on the Western Valleys line near to Aberbeeg.

A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
Varteg......allowing for the intermediate section open as a heritage railway.

That station, also known as Garndiffaith, was the next closed station after Varteg.....You may be interested to know that another station with the name of Six Bells Halt is one of the closed stations on the final line traversed on this journey (MONMOUTHSHIRE RAILWAY AND CANAL COMPANY)...but not unfortunately that will be named on this particular quiz as it was on the branch that bifurcated away.

I found this Six Bells Halt here: http://www.s-r-s.org.uk/RailRef/ref-nw.php#246 which puts it as mentioned. Any further clarification on the station would be useful; it seems to be a popular name in the Valleys.
