Floriston

I knew that we would have a problem with this area as Floristan, then the following station of Rockcliffe, were on the Caledonian Railway. But they are both on a different line to the one we are following which is the Border Union Railway. for which my records show the next closed station to be that of:-

Lyneside

NOTE : On the line where we are on, there were two more stations after Lyneside before Carlisle Citadel was reached, of which only one is valid.. please note the PM that I have sent about a certain military halt which is not allowed on this quiz.

Well, that was the final posting, but there was a previous closed station at Lindal.

Bear with me whilst I prepare the next journey.

We now move into England for the next journey...

This quiz is number 126 so far,,,

The journey starts at the closed station of Garton
It follows the line of the Malton and Driffield Railway
It then follows the line of the York to Scarborough line
It then follows the line of the Derwent Valley Light Railway
It then follows the line of the Great Northern Railway main line
It then follows the line of the Hatfield and St Albans Railway
The journey ends at the closed station of St Albans (London Road)

The first closed station on this journey is Garton

Apologies for missing Lindal however I'm glad I did as it caused me to look up its location and read about the fascinating Lindal Railway Incident.
