Sorry, but there should be
Elland and
Greetland stations between Bradley & Luddenden Foot
An utter and contrite apology
I can offer no excuses whatsoever for this inexplicable
faux pas, as both of these two railway stations are
very clearly shown on my hard-copy Manchester and Leeds Railway sectional leg draft with notes that Elland was opened in October 1840 and that Greetland was originally named
North Dean and opened in 1844. I now see these as clear as possible in the cold light of day. My eyes just went straight down the draft from Bradley to Luddenden Foot, completely missing out both these two railway stations.
Even worse, because:-
1).. The Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway is my favourite railway line.
2).. I am a member of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Society.
3).. A certain forum member who shall remain nameless has this particular line section as home territory from his younger days.
Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa
