But there's a puzzle here - wiki mentions two more halts - Dalvey Farm and Ballifurth Farm - but gives no clue as to where they are

I've located the farm halts - Balliefurth was between Grantown and Nethy Bridge and Dalvey between Advie and Cromdale

Certain records do indeed record the standard of a "halt provision" as those two examples you have be so kind as to quote, but there does seem to be a difference of opinion as to "farm halts" compared to "hamlet or "great house" halts" being put into a very minor sub-categorisation of what were the "goods stations" main division of transportation usage.

You will notice that this quiz in its guidelines does try to follow this accepted understanding of such matters.

Anyway, whoever these Drummuir Curlers were, they had another station at

Cove Bay is a long way but looks like the next one

Cove Bay is connected with the railways in the Aberdeen area. Look at the preamble to this leg...we are now at the Great North of Scotland Railway, so the logical choice at the line conjunction is surely Keith, but yiou cannot name that one as it is an open station, so heading down this new line, the first closed station you come to is.....

Unfortunately the source I was using suggests there are no closed stations between Keith and Aberdeen. In retrospect that sounds inherently unlikely - as is evidently the case.

As I can't find anything else I'll have to sit the next section out alas

I will give you a hint here....we are on the line of the Great North of Scotland Railway, where OPEN stations exist at Keith, Huntley, Insch, Inverurie and Dyce before the Aberdeen area is reached. I have already made a posting of Grange on this leg of the journey, if that also is of any help to you.

Then. once there in the Aberdeen area, we commence the final leg on the Aberdeen Railway to the final open station of Bridge of Don (as stated in the preamble to this particular journey)

After Grange, my exceedingly old document from my archives produced by the successor company to the Great North of Scotland Railway seems to say that Cairnie Junction was the following station.

Such is the cost of naming arcane railway companies that have closed railway stations, in the clues of these preambles that are used at the start of these quizzes on the Closed Stations Journey Quiz

If it helps matters, after the station that I have named above, there is still a closed station before the open station of Huntly is reached.
