I'm a little unsure of which stations are now open and which ones are closed!

It might well be pointing out that once the Borders Railway is open in a few months time, there will be some of what we now term closed stations still acceptable to be used, as these new stations will be built of different sites.

The two current closed station site which will be used for the new stations on the same site will be:-
Gorebridge
Stow

I think that you will find that Newtongrange came after Eskbank,

...... then followed by Gorebridge and then by Fushiebrdge

That station is on the Edinburgh and Glasgow Railway's Corstophine branch line. We are currently on the line of the Edinburgh and Hawick Railway.
