All Stretton Halt

I sometimes wonder if there is any closed line/station we haven't visited yet?

Little Stretton Halt

I think that we may have found one recently, Dewsbury Market Place, that commenced journey number 272, but noting the length of time that this quiz has been running, it does become harder and harder. There are still some unused GN and LYR stations in the West Yorkshire area that are incorporated into future quizzes still to be published.

The Southern area has not yet been covered?
At least 6 consecutive between Salisbury-Warminster.
Basingstoke- Exeter St Davids would be interesting.
I have been in communication with Nick Catford and he has advised me that his forthcoming article of Folkestone Central to Dover Priory and branches will cover 10 closed stations (7 public stations, 2 staff halts and one goods station).

Coming soon...So watch this web site space....

Have a look at postings # 6 and #7 on this quiz where both Dover and Folkestone closed stations were named in the very early leg that was the precursor of the currently used journey format. I think that you made a comment at the time.

Can I remind you that both staff halts (of any type) and goods stations that never handled any passenger traffic are specifically NOT allowed on this quiz and the rules section makes that point clear.

This is part of the West of England Main Line. To give some examples:-
Oakley
Hurstbourne
Idmiston Halt
Porton
Wilton South
Dinton
Semley
Milbourne Port
Sutton Bingham
....and others

All have been named no less than three times on this quiz, the last time being the 19th July 2014
