We next move to Scotland for the next journey.....

This is number 2042 in the series so far.....

The journey starts at the closed station of Fort Augustus Pier
It follows the line of the Invergarry and Fort Augustus Railway
It then follows the line of the West Highland Railway...via Fersit Halt
It then follows the line of the Glasgow, Dumbarton and Helensburgh Railway...via Dalmuir (1st station)...via Singer Works
It then follows the line of the Edinburgh and Glasgow Railway...via Dullatur...via the Ratho loop line
It then follows the line of the Edinburgh and Dalkeith Railway...via Jock's Lodge
It then follows the line of the Peebles Railway...via Bonnyrigg
It then follows the line of the Edinburgh and Hawick Railway...via Galashiels (1st station)
It then follows the line of the Berwickshire Railway...via Earlston
It then follows the line of the North British Railway Main Line...via Reston (1st station)
The journey ends at the closed station of Burnmouth

The first closed station on this journey is Fort Augustus Pier

PS - there is a slip of the keyboard in the itinerary - travelling via the Welsh Highland would have been tricky! :)

Harking back to the abovementioned, there are two points to note....

1) ... The journey preamble now reads "West Highland Railway".... :oops:

2) ... Singer Works was a station on the Glasgow, Dumfries and Helensburgh Railway, whereas Kilbowie Road was a station on the Lanarkshire and Dunbartonshire Railway.
