I had Merry Lees following on from Desford.

The Bagworth loop line bifurcated to the south of Merry Lees and had two closed stations upon it....and then it rejoined the main line prior to Bagworth and Ellistown

HINT NOTE.....Further down the line, we will pass Swannington but note that the Swannington terminal station on the Leicester and Swannington Railway was on a totally different line to the Swannington one of the Midland Counties that the Midland Counties Railway took on a new line alignment that completely by-passed the steep incline on the Leicester and Swannington Railway

I've found a reference to a Thornton Lane between Merry Lees and Bagworth and Ellistown

I will now name the two closed stations that were on the Bagworth loop line as we have now passed it without them being named. They were:-

Thornton (Stag and Castle Inn) and Bagworth
