Brimley Halt if we are reversing to go to Moretonhampstead and back

We don't normally go down (up??) branches and come back again though

But this was not what I had in mind. Can you "strike-through" your posting of Brimley Halt, please.

The preamble made reference to moving on from the Moretonhampstead and South Devon railway to the GWR Exeter to Penzance line, which would pass through the open station of Newton Abbot to the closed station of.....

Brent

To be fair, I did mention reversals in the preamble of this particular journey in more than one place

This part of posting # 10321 may have been missed by some contestants.

Now I'm slightly confused by the reversal!

Teigngrace Halt (?)

There was no need to "strike-through" this station, as it was correct.

Can you re-instate, please.

Ah! The trip up a dead-end branch has thrown me!

Bovey

This is the posting to "strike-through"

But I remain confused - we haven't reversed and are not set to do so until Gwinear Road that I can see

This will be a salutary lesson to me not to be "too clever by half" by introducing such matters

The reversal occurred prior to Alphington, as someone had already made comment upon earlier in the thread....not on entering the line at Brent.

What reversal at Alphington? None that I can see. We went through Exeter St Davids and St Thomas (both open) and turned straight onto the branch reaching the closed station/halt of Alphington

Alphington

the reversals are puzzling me at the moment

I thought that this posting was making reference to a reversal at this point.

Perhaps the comment might have been meant as a reference to somewhere else.

The comment was meant to indicate that I didn't understand where we were going to reverse at the far end of the line having travelled to Heathfield and Newton Abbott

Although I'm not sure this actually constitutes a passenger station, since it was only described even at the time as a "temporary wooden shed" built to accomdoate the Bodmin traffic, and lasted barely six weeks! I can't even confirm if it had platforms.
