You certainly are keeping me on my toes tonight. My records show TWO closed stations between Rearsby station and Asfordby station:-

Brooksby

Frisby

I wondered if Peterborough East could have been accessed between Walton and Castor, but the convoluted lines and junctions threw me completely.

As far as I remember, we could have continued along the Midland Line to Peterborough East to reverse, then back under the GN Main Line to Castor, but we seem to have used the GN spur from Fletton Goods back to Longville Junction.

This is exactly the way the journey took on this particular journey, but either of the two options may be used on future journeys.
