Holbeck High Level?

I was idly wondering if there was a junction prior to that, that led onto the direct route through Leeds onto the line of the Leeds and Selby Railway.

Just wondering if a route that saw Laisterdyke precede that one would also be valid....but to continue.....

You could go via Laisterdyke but there was also a south to east chord which we could use.

Yes, there is a direct route, built (I think) in BR days..

Kippax

Would I be right in thinking that the junction leading to Kippax came after the open station of Garforth?

The last closed station on this journey prior to the one you have just named was Osmandthorpe Halt, so we still would have three further closed stations after that on the Leeds and Selby Railway, the first of which opened in 1851 and closed in 1864, the second of which opened in 1851 and closed in 1869, the third of which opened in 1915 and closed in 1924.
