I'd got it into my head -- rightly or wrongly -- that Saltney Ferry station was not on the main line, but just onto the branch towards Mold.

I'd got it into my head -- rightly or wrongly -- that Saltney Ferry station was not on the main line, but just onto the branch towards Mold.

INFORMATION

Saltney Ferry was opened by the LNWR on the line of the Chester to Holyhead Railway on 1st June 1891 and was closed on 30th April 1962.

The station was situated on a four-track section of that main Chester to Holyhead line, to the east of Mold Junction. It was not situated on the branch line.
