He got about, did he from whom I take my forum name -- or rather, I take it from that of loco No. 1 of the Leek & Manifold Valley Railway, named after said gent who was engineer and largely, originator of that line.

Cleobury Mortimer.

How I most often get into trouble: taking as gospel truth and without checking it against anything else, the notorious Dewick's Complete Atlas . Sometimes, one has to wonder what Mr. D. habitually smokes: he comes up with stuff corroborated by no other source. He is, in black and white, of the opinion that there was on the CM&DP, between Cleobury Town and C.M. junction, a halt called Wyre Common Crossing. I've checked, after the event, with Wiki -- which has heard of no such thing.

I'd better write out one hundred times: "I must not believe Dewick without getting a second opinion."
