We next move to Wales for the next journey.....

This is number 717 in the series so far.....

The journey starts at the closed station of Swansea St Thomas
It follows the line of the Swansea Vale Railway
It then follows the line of the Swansea Vale and Neath and Brecon Joint Railway
It then follows the line of the Neath and Brecon Railway
It then follows the line of the Mid-Wales Railway
It then follows the line of the Hereford, Hay and Brecon Railway
It then follows the line of the Newport, Abergavenny and Hereford Railway...Note 1st and 2nd stations
It then follows the line of the Coleford, Monmouth, Usk and Pontypool Railway
It then follows the line of the Ross and Monmouth Railway
It then follows the line of the Hereford, Ross and Gloucester Railway
It then follows the line of the GWR Gloucester to Newport Line
It then follows the line of the South Wales Railway
It then follows the line of the Ely Valley Railway
It then follows the line of the Ely Valley Extension Railway
It then follows the line of the Ogmore Valley Railway
It then follows the line of the GWR Garw Valley Line
The journey ends at the closed station of Blaengarw

The first closed station on this journey is Swansea St Thomas

My good lady wife and I have just returned back home after finding out the Northern 0827 Manchester Airport to Windermere that we had tickets on had been cancelled today as a follow-up from the OHL problems on Friday where units were not in their correct position earlier this morning. Northern then compounded matters to say that a later train as far as Preston was also cancelled, due to no driver being available.

I think that's right - so Talyllyn Junction (MWR).

I did see Talyllyn Junction (B&M) with track still in situ, but the only traffic was the demolition train, heading for Merthyr Tydfil. The MWR line had already been lifted. Sad days!
