Here we now experience a further problem, based on what RAILSCOT say about Brunstane being built on the same site as Joppa (1st) station and that the location is said to be on the branch line from Portobello East Junction to Niddrie South Junction, which is NOT on the line as such as the North British Railway Main Line on which a later Joppa station was in fact built.

The above explanation was entered on this thread two or three years ago.
