Incidentally, to go back to the previous line traversed, if you recall the query that was raised early in 2012 on this quiz about Dallam Lane, this station was the original terminal station of the Warrington and Newton Railway, but was in a terminal position and when the new through line was opened into Warrington, it was left in the same position as happened to Manchester Oldham Road (Manchester and Leeds Railway) and Manchester Liverpool Road (Liverpool and Manchester Railway) when the new through connectional line was opened into Manchester Victoria station.

Hence, it is now precluded from any through route on this quiz, but could well be used as a final terminal station when being the official end to one of these journeys.
