Manchester Central is the final closed station on this journey....Chorlton-cum-Hardy now enjoying a very busy new life on the Manchester Metrolink system
General Information.....
There was a station, albeit closed in 1862, on the Oldham, Ashton and Guide Bridge Railway after that of Ashton Oldham Road. It was called Ashton Moss.

We now head into Scotland for the next journey....
This quiz is number 110 so far...
The journey starts at the CLOSED station of Rigg
It follows the line of the Glasgow, Dumfries and Carlisle Railway
It then follows the line of the Glasgow, Paisley, Kilmarnock and Ayr Railway...Using the Montgreenan loop line
It then follows the line of the Dalry and North Johnstone line
It then follows the line of the Paisley Canal line
It then follows the line of the City of Glasgow Union Railway
It then follows the line of the Edinburgh and Glasgow Railway...Using the Ratho loop line
It then follows the line of the East Coast Main Line
It then follows the line of the Wensleydale Railway
It then follows the line of the Settle to Carlisle line
It then follows the line of the Ribble Valley line
It then follows the line of the Lancashire Union Railway...Using the Whelley loop line
It then follows the line of the North Union Railway
It then follows the line of the Warrington and Newton Railway
It then follows the line of the Grand Junction Railway
It then follows the line of the Crewe and Shrewsbury Railway
It then follows the line of the Shrewsbury and Hereford Railway
It then follows the line of the Hereford, Ross and Gloucester Railway
It then follows the line of the Cheltenham and Great Western Union Railway
It then follows the line of the Midland and South Western Junction Railway
It then follows the line of the Sprat and Winkle line
The journey ends at the CLOSED station of Mottisfont
The first closed station on this journey is Rigg
I sincerely hope that this particular "long-ish"journey will still be running when we return from our holiday in the Isle of Wight.....
