Incidentally, Roman Road was the station situated after Ridge Bridge

I took a further look at this. Ridge Bridge is the name of the bridge (listed by English Heritage) where Roman Ridge (the roman road from Doncaster to Tadcaster, now the A635) crosses the Leeds & Selby Railway. I can't find a definitive location for Roman Road station (open for only a few months in 1834) but it must have been close, because there is no other roman road in the area. Ridge Bridge Halt (1912 to about 1920) isn't marked on any of the OS maps I can find, but it was presumably at the bridge also.
