I think the first of the two branch lines that left the GWR Ruabon to Barmouth line, that are stated on the preamble to this quiz, left that line at Trevor.

The problem is more one of understanding where the lines named in the preamble actually are (sorry, were) rather than not reading the preamble. There's not exactly a wealth of resources available for some of them.
