Burnmouth is the final closed station before Berwick upon Tweed

I thought the quiz was in need of a rest, but since ole man now has his Internet back on line, I will try another one.
This new leg is on the line of the Border Counties Railway, starting from the open station of Hexham, running to the closed station of Riccarton Junction.
The first closed station is.....

Indeed this is the final station......
I would ask that I be allowed to make a final leg upon this quiz from a draft that went missing when I first designed this quiz. This leg is an amalgamation, similar to the North wales leg that was set recently.
This leg starts on the West Lancashire Railway at the open station of Preston where it runs to Meols Cop...from where it then takes the route of the Liverpool, Southport and Preston Junction Railway as far as its junction with the Southport and Cheshire Lines Extension Railway which it then follows and ends at the open station at Orrell Park.

I do believe that there was a closed station prior to Banks called Hesketh End

SPECIAL NOTE
Although it was my intention to call this leg, the very last leg on the quiz, I have had a PM stating that another member wishes to follow this leg with another one. The route he suggests is a most interesting one.
That is very good news indeed and of course, the quiz will remain open if members wish it to continue.

We now take the middle line of the leg, where every second station was a "halt" that was opened in the 1906-1907 period.....HINT : The next few stations are on the line of the Liverpool, Southport and Preston Junction Railway and the next station is one of these "halts"
