Hello,
I thought I'd pop on here to post a story when Euston station was closed, for engineering work, a couple of saturdays ago.
Me and DJC_158 went up to Euston (CX branch) to pass Euston, and we got off at mornington cresent. Wanting to get the next train to Bank there wasn't one. I then stupidly forgot that the Bank branch runs behind the station, and need to change at Camden. We decided to go to Waterloo instead, passing Euston instead (as the info screen at the plafortm said). So on the approach to Euston, expecting to hear the 'The next station is closed..' announcement, she said 'We are now approaching Euston Charing Cross Branch..' 'WRONG' I thought as we slowed down for the 5mph passing limit that never seems to be aheared to if ever only for 2 seconds.
Then we came to a stop, thinking its a red then 'hiss...rrrroooommmmm'. Doors open! 20-30 people got of so we did as well, thinking mayde the platform has opened, or only on the down side only.
So I went over to the northbound platform and filmed the next 95 stock passing through.
After that we went up some stairs that were there, and some weren't, and at the top, the exit was sealed!! We went down the stairs and went up the other set and a security guard wanted to know what we were doing. Rather baffled as I told him we got off a train, he took us to one of the tube staff who said 'You got off a train as well?' (he must of seen the other group get off, but though we got off a different train as we were a bit later as I was filming.) We told him what happened and gladly let us on our way, and the driver probably got one hell of a bashing at Morden or on the radio!!
The is probably the first and last time I ever get off at a closed station, I couldn't really do it even if I tried!
Cheers,
James.
