Claverdon & Bearley: request stops?

Can anyone confirm whether Claverdon & Bearley on the Royal Leamington Spa - Stratford Upon Avon line are request stops?

Wikipedia has them listed as such but the National Rail website doesn't mention it in the way it does for the nearby Wootton Wawen. However, I know that National Rail isn't consistent because I was at Llanaber in the summer which is a request stop but NR doesn't suggest it is.

My son is desperate to visit one or more request stops and we don't have many in our neck of the woods. Some cheap advance tickets might make this possible.

They are only a request stop for London Midland services from what I can see for which there is only 1 per day.

If you want some request stops the line from Stratford towards Birmingham via Wootton Wawen is good as IIRC you have 4 on that route (Danzey, Wood End & The Lakes)

Thanks. Yes I'd found Wootton Wawen, Danzey, Wood End & The Lakes but was trying to see if we could add in Bearley as that is walkable from Wootton Wawen but have now managed to download the NR timetable and can see the one and only request stop train is a tad early!

I went down that way on Sat and they stopped at all of them anyway going towards Stratford but didn't on the way back, I guess some drivers/guards do it differently.

Chiltern can't do request stops because they're DOO, no guard to tell you want to get off.

Claverdon is also not too far from WW, i recently walked along the canal from Lapworth to Wootton Wawen and that passes quite close to Claverdon - though annoyingly i didn't realise until afterwards otherwise i would have gone to have a look.

Chiltern can't do request stops because they're DOO, no guard to tell you want to get off.

I think Chiltern services gain a guard at some point heading up to Stratford? It's a few years since I did Chiltern on that line and someone came to lock out the doors for the short platforms

The Chiltern set came and went while I was waiting at Stratford on Saturday and it was definitely DOO. Though it was only 2-car, so perhaps longer trains do require a guard for that reason.

DOO with request stops happens in Germany and Switzerland, units there are fitted with bus style stop buttons for the purpose. The door open buttons also request a stop.

Ah OK. I would be interested to know as I was of the impression some services (aside from the loco hauled which do) may have a guard for a part of the journey, but I may be mistaken

I think they used to gain one north of Banbury but I'm not sure they do any more.

Interestingly Chiltern don't seem to supply whatever information it is that make trains on RTT show as "service does not have a guard".

Anything north of Banbury is worked by a guard (Train manager), loco hauled services are worked by a guard throughout their journey, The Paddington parliamentary service is also worked by a guard

Including the Leamington-Stratford shuttle? I didn't see any evidence of one. Maybe he was hiding
