Noticed this morning TPE are playing classical music on one of their stations(apart from when the Auto announcements kick in)

There are some issues there in the evening(once which caused a member of staff to be sacked who was dealing with it) so remains to be seen if it has an effect?

It's been used for years elsewhere, most notably Hbf-Nord U-Bahn in Hamburg which coupled with the style of the station gives it a very Soviet feel. I'd rather that than "mosquito" high pitched sound devices as despite being 40 I can hear these and it is very unpleasant.

There was a very similar thread quite recently here.

Some perfectly legitimate discussion in the thread but also some which I feel was way over the top. One user in particular suggested it was illegal and tried to get one particular station prosecuted over the use of piped music.

I don't think it's "over the top" to expect railways to obey their own by-laws! I haven't checked lately, but it certainly used to be the case that it was illegal, and hence perfectly proper to try to stop a railway (in that case LT) annoying people illegally.

I think it is a massive over reaction to a small thing. But that can be normal for this place!

I was expecting you.

I have nothing to add except that small and big are subjective. As well as relative, of course.
