Having recently seen the Flying Scotsman (the train) at King's Cross and I believe an artist's impression of a future train design in a colour looking close to LNER apple green, I started thinking could some of today's trains be given classic liveries to liven up the railways and give a nod to the past?

For example: the Flying Scotsman. Especially as its only one way (southbound) now, could a couple of DVTs be painted in Apple Green, and a couple of sets of carriages and a couple of 91s be painted in Teak?

Would be interested in any more ideas...

A Class 380 in the old 'Blue Train' livery has crossed my mind a few times before.

Or Scotrail? That always looked nice.

I understand 91110 is our fastest electric locomotive so how about honouring its steam counterpart by painting it garter blue and maybe even naming it Mallard?

Paul Burkitt-Gray - RMWeb.

This site here has a lot of reliveried stock, some in some fairly classic liveries.
