Is anyone aware if Hull class 802s will use the wires between Wigston and St Pancras when on diversion, now that the wire upgrades are complete, or will they just stay on diesel mode?
TPTB?Do Hull Trains Class 802s usually run in 10-car formation on said diversions? If so then I would imagine TPTB will wait until EMR Class 810s are cleared for electric-mode 10-car operation first, which is probably still some time away as 10-car testing of any kind (including diesel-mode) still hasn't commenced.
Short for "The Powers That Be"TPTB?
Ah yes, forgot about that. Well since solo 810s can now use all the Midland OLE at linespeed (HST125 differential, technically speaking) I can't see a reason why performing the necessary clearance tasks to enable 802s to do the same shouldn't happen in the near future. The 802s in 10 car formation would be too long for the platforms at St Pancras.
