We've had route and distance, how about class coverage.

Basically this is the number of different classes you have travelled on this year.

Sorry this is starting late.

Sub classes don't count and it is only regular services with classes, so charters and summer extras don't count.

Rescue trains don't count so no extra class 57 or 67.

Here's a list of classes available.

Class 378 are now in service on London Overground routes, as are 395 Javelins on domestic HS1 runs between London St Pancras and Ashford International, Kent.

You can have a go on the latter for a premium fare.

True, the 378's are still being delivered, but ARE in regular service on an ad hoc basis

The final Javelin trainset was unloaded at Southampton Docks and moved by rail to the engineering centre in Kent last week.

I'm confused... Are we counting 220/1/2 as different classes?

Or the same class? =/

Lordy lord, I had no idea there were so many electrics in the world. I think I make 13 on that list, on the liberal assumption that I've been on both 221 and 222s on the NW coast, and 507/508 on the Wirral line. Even counting before 2009, it only goes to 16. :(

57,67,142,143,150,153,158,175,185,220,221,507,508. Previous years 121,170,390.

What about foreign stuff and preserved railways, or things like the Scarborough Spa express, Jacobite etc?

Foreign doesn't count, sse and jacobite aren't all year round so don't count either.

I would make a list but he said just put a number, shall i do one or not?

The number is fine, thanks

wow where do I start

20, 37 and 87 don't count because they don't haul regular passenger trains, just charters and extras...

222s only run with EMT. 220s & 221s used to run on North Wales coast

I've counted 20 - if steam on preserved lines was allowed too, that would be pushed up a bit. I'm surprised it's that many anyway, to be honest!

This year so far I've had: 57, 67, 90, 91, 121, 142, 143, 144, 150, 153, 155, 156, 158, 165, 166, 168, 170, 175, 180, 185, 220, 221, 222, 313, 315, 317, 319, 321, 323, 350, 357, 360, 365, 375, 376, 377, 390, 395, 421, 442, 444, 450, 455, 458, 465, 507 & 508. So that puts me down for 47 I think.

Now I also could say I've had: A 4F, 02, 14, 20, 25, 31, 33, 37 (920 miles behind them this year!), 40, 47, 66 and 73 for haulage this year, but these don't count apparently despite them still being locos in active service (preserved or not) :-?
