Hello!

Not so much a ‘speculative idea’, as a serious question about how 91s can be used.

If Mk4s and DVTs are going to be with 90s on the West Coast for Grand Central; or with 67s on the Gerald’s in Wales, what could be done with 91s?

In their current state they’re relatively useless, but they were, from memory, built with the two cabs for use on other traffic overnight as dictated by whatever BR had a need for.

Could the be effectively re-geared for intermodal or even bulk haul electric traffic?

Theoretically, but they weren't designed for freight, though sleeper trains were originally going to be hauled by them over the WCML I believe.
