There has been no updates on the AC Locomotive Group website for 10 months.

Does anyone know the current status of the 89?

Restoration is at an advanced stage and the safety systems required for main line operation have been fitted with the loco due to move from Loughborough to Crewe for testing imminently (if it hasn't already). 'An exciting announcement' is expected very soon regarding its return to the main line which I expect to be taking place this year.

for what it’s worth, I haven’t seen it at UKRL in the last few weeks.

Mostly Glasgow-ish. Mostly.

Good info, thanks. Very much looking forward to seeing the 89 back on the main line.

I wonder where the first tour will be, the East Coast is of course where it did its revenue working but it did testing over Shap with the Crewe test rake I think, maybe we could see the resurrection of the Bradford/Skipton charter that might be and idea
