Class 86 / 87 Willesden

G'day everyone,

Having travelled past Willesden TMD yesterday both a class 86 and 87 were noted. Whilst I understand that they are privately owned are they maintained by TfL given that they have ownership of Willesden TMD?

I would imagine they are either maintained by whoever holds the contract for LO maintenance at Willesden or by a company contracted by the owners of the locos who then in turn "hire" space from LO

I guess the skills have remained with the depot staff from the time Willesden had an allocation of WCML electrics.

Currently 86401 there.....it hasn't moved for a long time. 86101 & 87002 move occasionally, and of course 86259 is used out on the main line from time to time.
86213 has moved on I believe......
