Passing by Dundee station yesterday I noticed that "Class 80x Stop" boards had been recently added. Have they appeared at other stations along the routes to Aberdeen and Inverness? Also, is 80x provision in case XC gets some 803s or is it just a standard sign that's being used on the electrified route as well?

Are they not being put up as LNER serve Edinburgh to Aberdeen/Inverness and they will be using Azumas from 2020 on the majority of their services hence some forward planning from them?

Guessing it's just a standard sign that as well as being easier to produce en-mass, rather than specific ones for certain places, is also future proof in case of stock changes.

They’ve been there for months. It’s a standard sign used on the whole route as there will be multiple operators of 80x trains on other parts of the ECML.

These signs are in place at Arbroath. Spotted them earlier this week. Not sure about further up the line towards Aberdeen. Don't recall seeing them before this week either.

They’ve been on all the stations from Aberdeen southwards for months yes. Can’t speak for the HML.
Odd then that I never noticed them before yesterday despite walking past Dundee station two to three times a week.

They are fitted at all stations on the HML - and have been for months I believe, although some of them are covered by black bags.

I can corroborate they've been installed for months along with belises for the SDO operation.
