Class 80x bogie modifications?

I heard that the 800s/802s were going to have their bogies modified to prevent future cracking, but haven't seen anything about this online or in the forum.

I would like to know:
- How many sets have been modified, if any?
- When is the program expected to be finished?
- Do the modified sets ride significantly better than the non-modified sets?
- What modifications did they receive? (Or if it hasn't begun yet, what modifications are they going to recieve?)

Don’t think it’s the bogies getting done, it’s part of the bodywork where the yaw dampers meet the body (others will explain better)

My first thought also. 800113s short stay is hopefully a sign of could be achieved if/when they ramp up though

IIRC they're just getting more frequent wheelset swaps rather than mods to the bogies themselves ( the Eastleigh work is to body components) - that *might* help ride a bit. IMO they just can't cope with the reality of the GW routes.

To that point of not being able to cope with the routes they serve on, could the significant amount of wheel hunting experienced in these units have contributed to this issue? I can’t imagine an unnecessary amount of shaking from the bogies has helped here.

I must admit, the more I think about it, the more I feel that ultimately it is the 26m coach length that is the cause of the ride problems. Hopefully modifications to the bogies can change that, but I worry that there isn't budget for the sorts of modifications and testing that we saw with the MK4. I'm interested to see how the 810's will ride, with a shorter carriage length, and hopefully improved springs/damping that incorporates the lessons of the earlier IEP's
