Class 800s At Eastleigh?!?

For a while now there has been some class 800s come and go into Eastleigh trsmd. I have some questions about them. 1) Why are they there? 2) What TOCs have send their 800s there so far? 3) I have seen one recently but it has no number on the side?!?! If anybody knows what this is please tell me! Thank you, GBRf90sRailway!

Welcome. I believe it’s just that they have run out of physical space to do the final touches of pre delivery inspection and final commissioning elsewhere. I think they’ve all been GWR trains so far, so they’ll have been satisfactorily tested, ie they have run the necessary fault free mileage and are having final livery, toc interior signage etc applied.

North Pole last week was full to the extent that there were delays to GWR ECS movements from Paddington as the depot could not accept them. There are some sets there in store and not yet handed over to GWR.
