Interesting that it made station stops and went via Northampton and called there and Long Buckby.
There was no intention of using them on any service that called there. Perhaps there's been a change?
There are some Euston-Crewe services that terminate at Northampton. They’ll have to be cleared for the Northampton loop regardless for diversions when the route via Weedon is blocked. They aren’t planned to be used in regular passenger service via Northampton, but there are probably some ECS moves that require it.

The reason for starting and terminating trains on the Crewe service at Northampton might be because that's where the maintenance depot is. I don't know, but if that IS the reason it would be logical to move the start/finish to Milton Keynes to be near Bletchley, where they are maintained.
When the Old Line is closed, the diverted Euston - Crewe trains don't call additionally at Northampton as far as I know - so I would have thought that the test trains wouldn't need to call there. Oddly, there don't seem to be test trains via the Old Line but that's probably pathing problems.
Still at Derby, never left as yet.

730213, 221 and 226 all now in Gascoigne Wood sidings. Does anybody know what the 730/0 is there?

Interesting. I thought all 730/0s had left Gasgoigne Wood and Doncaster with the last two 730025 & 730034 poised at Old Dalby for the next step to Willesden (I vainly anticipate).
I would be interested to know how long 730045 (quite a while) has been at Rugby and also how long 730022 has been at Crewe. Puzzled as to why as I believe both have been in service in Birmingham.
It should be 730027.

Is 26 not at Old Dalby? I thought 08 was but saw it in Brum yesterday.
Do you happen to know when it moved to Gascoigne Wood? And why? - it appears to have been in service for a few weeks.

Delivered to Willesden on 23/08/2024 with 035, see post 2332. I think is was 5Q74 instead of 72.
Interestingly I saw 730027 with 730004 on 26/01/2024 at Euston. It was on 5C00 Rugby to Camden CSD (I suppose via Euston). I have not encountered it since. I was under the impression that there were no more 730/0s festering at Gasgoigne Wood or Doncaster. They must be going back there !.
Yes, they were together on (I assume) training runs for several months earlier this year. Then 027 was reported as making its debut in passenger service in Brum on 23 July but appears to have seen use for a few weeks at most. It is the only 730/0 back at Gascoigne Wood or Donny to my knowledge which begs the question why? Does anybody know? I would have thought Soho would be after more sets, to ramp up the Wolves-Walsall services and then take over Rugeley-Brum Intl.

Will they be introduced on Euston-Crewe before they take over the Euston-Tring/MK local services? Also where will the units used for Birmingham-Liverpool be based?

It has been in service. I have driven it on 4 separate occasions between July 23rd and August 19th.

Correct me if I am wrong but I suspect Soho has as many 730/0s as it can use given the current number of trained drivers for the West Midlands there are. Eventually Birmingham/West-Midlands will use all of the 730/0s aiui.
Ah thanks. That is recent and I wonder why 730027 has gone to Gascoigne Wood - broken ?.

There were some 730/2 in Belmont yard today, occupying two roads. One was 207.

Still enduring 3+2 seated 350/2s on journeys to Euston and Birmingham, including today, so a bit annoying to see their replacements (and I know that we'll stay with 350's, but at least 2+2 seated ones) just dumped in sidings in other parts of the country. Not even doing free from defect mileage or driver training.
Imagine what train crew feel like, especially when it's a double 350/2 on the Trent! Still no closer to entering service
So frustrating. I live in SWR territory. I'll leave it at that...

Where do the 3+2 seat 450s work to, out of interest?
Portsmouth (via both routes). They are also diagramed to do Waterloo to Southampton attached to a 444, which then runs fast to Weymouth whilst the detached 450 follows slow to Poole (and vice versa)
