Is there any prospect of the 14:46 Euston - Crewe being doubled up again, I struggled to board it this afternoon from Atherstone...

I bow to your greater knowledge.
However the same units went north as came south and in both cases stops were made at the usual stations. The diagrams were classed as Express Passenger. Just seemed odd.

Looking at the allocations for 730220 it is simultaneously listed as with 730218, so that's the likely outcome, leaving 730231+730233 as on that service.

15 carriages would not have fit in Euston Platform 5 which is 275 metres, we would absolutely have heard about the chaos that would've caused.

I shall take RTT with a pinch of salt in future!!
RTT is only as good as the information it receives from other systems.

I have noticed before that odd allocations/formations have changed eventually once someone has corrected the data on an internal railway computer system.

I saw it arrive at Crewe and it was a pair of units (although no idea which two)

Any updates on 730204 as this is the only one I have yet to even see
I will broaden that to 730201, 730202, 730204 & 730227. As all four seem to have never entered traffic ?.

Also 730206 seems to have been nowhere since its break down on 01/06/2026.

What is happening with any of these ?.
Seems to have been no progress for months.

I agree. I know this has been talked about before but is there any updates on what these additional units will replace/strengthen?

Thanks. All makes sense.

Feels like nothing has changed for quite a while with 201, 202 & 204 then ?.
Were these the ones that were originally going to be 730/1s so might be more challenging ?.
I read somewhere that 202 was iirc out for testing (but vague and unsure source so I did not think about it much).

I know 206 broke down on 01/06/2026 and has never worked since.
But I did not know it was likely at Crewe Electric !.
I wonder if it is still there ?.

I recall maybe as long ago as June that 227 got brought back to Bletchley from Gascoigne Wood - does anyone know whether it has moved since ?.
On the face of it it had updates at Gascoigne wood but has come back to Bletchley for nothing to happen.

Conjecture :-
Maybe not enough parts for the entire fleet as usually happens with new fleets.
Maybe Derby LLs efforts are going into 701s and 345s. These last five 730s are maybe not urgently required by LNWR.

It feels like there is a pause in progress with just the last five to go.

Which is annoying when there are single 5 car sets working Trent Valley services that are full and standing, I've struggled to board a couple now...
