LNR up to their usual tricks in ripping out the stops on the Trent Valley section rather than terminating early at Stafford (with any passengers for Crewe asked to transfer for another LNR (or even Avanti) to Crewe.

I'm sure there is plenty of excuses for it, but it's annoying from a passenger perspective to rip out stops that see 1 train per hour while leaving in stops like Milton Keynes and Rugby that see multiple trains per hour.

Because that's where train crew changeover happens. Very few Crewe diagrams have staff staying on for a 2nd trip and Northampton/Bletchley train crew are not permitted to end/relieve at Stafford so unless they were booked on a 2nd trip they wouldn't be able to do so either.

There is also a lot of diagrams where it's the 1st part of the job, meaning train crew would be at Crewe but the train wouldn't be there to work. Would have to pass on the xx:19 Liv-Bhm service, due into Stafford at xx:39 (Euston service departs at xx:32). Only a small delay for those working the service, but those booked to pass to Rugby would miss that train.

Not an established PnB point other than for Crewe staff. I don't agree with it, but that has been the LLCs at Northampton's position for some time.
Having dealt with the depots in previous NSE days (before Npton was closed then re-opened) would be interested in rationale on this.
No unity across depots then ?

Still very much ex-silverlink and ex-central unfortunately. I honestly don't know why.

I totally get it when they're due a break at Crewe and don't sign the PnB point (Avanti station staff facility), but if it's just to change ends and await dispatch surely it shouldn't be an issue

I am wondering where does these units stable overnight? And does it have any security or so to patrol around??

If it happened on Monday morning at 2am, 233 would have been at Bletchley. The previous night it was at Crewe Carriage Sidings, according to RTT.

228 was at Northampton Riverside Sidings on Saturday night and stayed there until Monday morning while the line was closed due to planned engineering works.

And some good news:
730222 took over from 350130 at Crewe on 1G65 yesterday. I guess it had previously run ECS from Bletchley as 5K00.
I believe this is the first time 730222 has been in passenger service.

Caught 207 and 213 home today on the usual afternoon ex-Euston Trent Valley diagram, not sure which unit I was in but it still had that new train smell...

Looking through previous posts am I correct in thinking that the 730s still to enter service were last noted at the following locations:

Old Dalby 202/203/206/227/236
Gascoigne Wood 204
Wembley 201
Bletchley 219

A check on RTT indicates that none of these are in service today

Fairly sure 201 was also moved to Old Dalby shortly after 202

Until the timetable change, then we're back to 350s.
A bit of a kick in the teeth for Liverpool. When I’ve worked trains in to Liverpool and been adjacent to these units in the tunnels, they’re quite well loaded. I hope we see some more 8 car 350 diagrams.

I commute on the line, grown to love the 730s, far better than the 350s, they'll be missed.

Always Changing
Apologies for slightly digressing and if the answer is buried somewhere in the previous 125 pages of the thread;

From the timetable change later this month, am I correct in believing the intended 350 / 730 usage will be as follows;

730 (5-car batch) - Euston to Crewe, and Euston to Tring / MK locals
350 - Euston to Birmingham via Northampton, Birmingham to Liverpool, and Watford to St. Albans Abbey

Many thanks in advance for any confirmation / correction.
