Class 71 and 74 Research

I am currently doing some research on the Class 71s and 74s with a view to turning it into a book at some point.

I would be interested to hear from anyone who has experience of working on these locomotives when in service, or who drove them or has any other information about them.

Afraid I can't help as the only 71s I saw were at Doncaster Works, and similarly with 74010 which ended up at Derby RTC for some time I think (any idea why?). Hope your book is as interesting as the 47 version a couple of years ago.
