'12 is badly broken at Newport awaiting return to U.S.
'9 has one or two u/s bogies at Newport, how did that happen they are taken to docks on flats?
'5 has a badly broken motor is at BRUSH Loughborough for organ removal, for return to U.S. and possibly bogie donation to '9 pending return or shipment of new motor.
That's 3 out of 12 = 25% badly sick.
Can we expect 3 or 4 reconditioned 60s on two year lease in bright green anytime soon, when is the closing date for those up for offer ?
Be lucky

I would imagine the answer to that would be a resounding no. Freightliner already has a lot of slack in their fleet of 66s that will amply cover any short fall in 70s. Even if their operational fleet was at a stretch, Freightliner would hire in 66s from GBRf or DRS as they have done in the past to cover the shortfall.

I didn’t realise that the state of the Class 70 fleet was so unhealthy at the moment (Excepting 70012s’ well documented accident)!
