This morning next to Wimbledon Maintenance shed in between 701/5's we're 060, 029 and 026.
Over the other side were 036, 046, and 043 in half.
Road 8 had 024
Road 9 had 037
Hope that helps with the missing units today.
701/5's were 505, 515, 504 and 514.
526 was on the other side of the bridge to the left of Road 7 outside

There was also a unit in the Maintenance shed which I couldn't identify

are the EIGHT not in service this morning.

I make it 50 701s in passenger service this morning. Of the three outstanding diagrams, two are 2*450 (2C05 & 2M03) and the other one is cancelled (2R05). 701056 is the other one not in service.

Thank you. My fault on 056 - I saw it on RTT as allocated this morning but it was actually from a diagram last night where it’s brakes failed.

With the final job of draining and refilling the toilets fresh water tanks now complete, 1029 is ready for passenger service.

This is the final unit of the 10 car variant to enter passenger service.

Thank you for the update! Good news indeed and we wait to see which diagram it is allocated to. Is a debut likely tonight or tomorrow?

Amazing how the more units come into service the more seem to be unavailable.

I was really hoping we’d get 53 diagrams today, following 029’s debut last night…..

Is this really a useful figure though? What's more relevant is how many diagrams covered vs planned, there will never be 100% availability from any fleet.

51/53 are covered today which means the utilisation rate of 85% is not good enough.

This analysis helps identify the long-term problems... those which are regularly not in service. For some of us, it's just academic interest, I give you...

701/5s at Farnham 12.00 today (24.09.26): For those interested, on a walk past Farnham Depot today, I managed to identify 8 of the 10 701/5s by number, but the bushes and undergrowth are something of a challenge: There is a footpath to a footbridge off of Weydon Lane, some distance Farnham station side of Farnham Shed, but from here with a good telephoto lense I was able to identify 701513 and 518 right through the other end of the shed, the numbers of which were not visible later in my walk. Continuing down Weydon Lane to the Alton end of the Shed, there is a fairly clear area of fence (just past the bus stop) from which I could see 701507, a bit further over than the rest of the units. Nearest to the main line/Weydon Lane 701527+521 were clearly visible through the bushes. At the far end of Weydon Lane, in line with the buffer stops there is an access gate and from here could be seen 701506, 530 and 523 (lined up behind already mentioned 521): Having seen what I wanted to see, I proceeded no further, but it is possible that another unit (Alton end of 507) might be identifiable from Wrecclesham Road, but the view here is very challenging - two horrible fences and bushes/undergrowth in the way. So it was only Alton end of 507 and London end of 530 that I did not identify (although it is pretty certain that these are 511 and 516.

I make it 50 701s in passenger service this morning. The two outstanding diagrams of the 52 FO a.m, are both 2*450 (2C03 & 2U09) although neither are shown as short formed on journeycheck. The 53rd diagram, that works evening only on a Friday, is already allocated 701058 though.

I just worked recently-introduced 701029 on the 19:33 Waterloo-Windsor (20:51 return).

On this occasion, the PIS on departure displayed/announced the destination as “Windsor …, via Richmond” until said station - where it became “ … via Twickenham”.
On leaving Windsor it became “… Waterloo via Twickenham” before changing to “via Richmond” at TWI.

Small change , but hopefully this gets rolled out on the Kingston & Hounslow circular services.

I saw one showing London Waterloo via Richmond for the Teddington services. Would've been nice if they show Teddington via Richmond and changing destination en route.

That's a good change. Hopefully it gets rolled out soon.

Also 701021 & 701027 are not in passenger service this morning although 701021 did work after midnight last night

I make it 51 701s in passenger service this morning. The two outstanding diagrams are 2*450 (2H87 & 2J10), both of which are shown as 8v10 on journeycheck.
