I noticed there was a Class 70 with a set of cement tanks at York (Holgate sidings) on Tuesday 3 October. It was double headed with a Class 60 leading. Class 70s are quite rare up here. Can anyone tell me what it works and its regularity. Also is it always double headed ?

It's a West Thurrock to Oxwellmains working, usual headcode 6S89. The 70 was a failure as I understand it, hence the class 60 being used to haul it, which subsequently failed itself on the final approach to Oxwellmains. It wouldn't usually be double headed.
Others will be better placed to advise on regularity and usual traction, but it's certainly been class 70 hauled on multiple occasions.
