With this thread in mind http://www.railforums.co.uk/showthread.php?t=85541, can anyone advise if 6H14 Basford Hall>Guide bridge a regular trip? My son loves 70's (the loco, not the musical era so dear to my heart!) but has only seen a couple when the have whizzed past us while on another train.

The easiest place to see a class 70 in the north west is Warrington;
there is a daily 70-hauled coal train from Ellesmere Port to Fiddlers Ferry
which runs round at Latchford and passes under the low level lines
around 13:00 to 13:30, so you can see it twice from the road bridge
at Arpley - moving quite slowly in each case. The empties then return
from the power station a couple of hours later, and do the same move
via Latchford.
If you are prepared to venture a bit further, Stafford is a bit of a class 70
hotspot: if you were to visit from 11.10 to 16.10 on a weekday you should
see at least three different class 70s.
