I would first like to apologise if I have posted this in the wrong place.

I recently came across a photograph of a Class 66 in Metronet livery, which I distinctly remember seeing in person when they were more prominent. Out of interest, I thought I would conduct a little research on the subect. I understand that in 2006 GBRf aqcuired five Class 66s - 66718, 66719, 66720, 66721 and 66722 - which were delivered in Metronet livery, for use under a contract with the (now defunct) infrastructure company Metronet. I also understand that 9 Class 66s were provided, amongst other engeneering rolling stock/plant, for use on the sub-surface line renewals of the London Underground. The aforementioned locos were then named in January 2007.

I have since identified a further two locomotives that have carried the Metronet livery: 66713 "Forest City" and 66717 "Good Old Boy". Can anyone tell me if any of the other Class 66s carried the livery as well, please? I have seen a reference to 66712, but was unable to find a photograph to support it.

I am aware that the locomotives continued to carry the livery after Metronet met it's fate, at least until the locos were repainted. I seem to recall seeing a Class 66 in Metronet livery in recent years, but can't remember which one or long ago it was (time flies!). I was wondering if anyone knew how long the livery survived for, please? (I have a few rolling stock books for research purposes, but 2014 is the earliest one I have.)

Thank you in advance for your help.

None of 66712/13/17 carried Metronet. Presume misidentification of photos. The last one in traffic in the livery was 66719, repainted June 2014. 66720 retained its Metronet blue roof until repainted in June 2022.

Thank you for the clarification @Defiance149, as I really appreciate it. I don't have the original references to hand at the moment, but the information appears to have misidentified the photos of 66712/13/17, as you say.

I didn't realise that it was as far back as 2014. I knew it was some time ago, but it goes to show how time flies! Thank for the information on 66719/20. I take it the others were repainted between the demise of Metronet and 2014 (except 66720's roof)?

Out of curiosity, do you happen to know which other Class 66s undertook work for Metronet (I assume were allocated a pool?) or did it vary?

Thanks again for your help.

Locos used on the Metronet contract varied and as far as I know any avaliable loco was used. As far as I know 66718-22 were NOT tripcock fitted, so any loco would be suitable.
