Forgive me if this is a frequent question, but "Search" didn't answer me. Are the 66's in the France pool all physically located in France, or do they pop over on a "needs must" basis? If so, where in France can one find them?

IIRC they cant be used over here because they have been modified for use in France. I think different brakes amongst other things. This is why they get hauled through the tunnel.
Werent they tested on the GC?

These Eurosheds - are they still British TOPS numbered and just gone off-lease from DBS?

I would guess so, considering the numbers haven't been removed and liveries are the same. Don't hold me to that though...:)

You can see them in this country, when they occasionally come back for maintenance; but don't hold your breath as it has been some time since I have seen one beyond Dollands Moor.

They get in to Switzerland as well, here is 66229 at Basel Muttenz Yard on a Saturday morning.

They're all over France. One of my mates was lucky enough to be at Lunel station when one came through: http://wayfarer.fotopic.net/p57233295.html

But that's right in the south, and you will find them right in the north as well.
