Class 60 sightings at eastleigh

Through this Bad weather. It looks like the 'Train Operators' have thought! Mmm we have to keep double heading 66's with all this snow and ice about!!
Consequently "Class 60's" have been making appearances more often in and around Eastleigh Yard. This last week 60015 and 60019. The latter has been putting in quite a few turns!!
Long may it continue!

There was a spate of 60's knocking around at the beginning of this year. A couple were used for shunting duties up East Yard, and the occasional LWR train would turn up with one on the front or DIT. Very occasionally there'd be a 60 on a stone train coming off the Chandlers Ford but I've only seen it twice in recent times, in 2009 I seem to recall.

The shunter duty 60 would normally end up idling outside our yard, then would make the buildings rattle with that low frequency chug as they remarshalled rakes of JNA and LWR wagons. A cold start would leave a cloud of blue grey diesel smoke drifting over Lidl's and the NR depot. Lovely stuff.
