Yes, 2x37 but now a Hanson grid, presume 311 or 312 if they are still going by then, didn't have much look with that last one (can't remember which one it was but it was grey) spent ages trundling round Bristol on four motors doing route learners didn't it?!

I thought it was lime green with orange polkadots on it and named Geoff in 56312 style flourescent pink writing. Obviously I'm wrong

56301, 302 and 303 are also grey...

Last time I saw 56311 at Derby it was Grey, unless they have re-painted it now?

I presume Hanson is trusting that 56311 will work now, unlike the alloa tour where they said they weren't even going to try putting that on a tour..

Still as again I'll believe its a 56 nearer to the time, I would like to book it as I've yet to go behind a 56 to see what its like but I'm working the Monday so that's out the window.

I believe Hanson Traction weren't an approved EWS supplier back in August, hence it being unable to work the Alloa tour after Fastline couldn't provide an engine. (Rolling stock providers have to be audited by the TOC and approved before their vehicles are used.) According to a post on wnxx by Pathfinder, HT will be audited by EWS and this has started.

That is what I heard aswell, if it is to be any of them 311 seems a better bet, unless of course 312 is stronger.

I have been meaning to ask this for a while and I am honestly serious with this one.
Why are the current grids we have quite Crap????
I mean I like the class 56 great loco's indeed and had great fun on one at the gcrn but waiting around at Water Orton for hours for the things does get tedious.

Sadly the things are actually very hard on maintenance, plus the overhauls they had recently weren't really up to scratch.
Someone else can probably shed a lot more light unto the matter though.

If its that boring why do it then? Afterall there is only 3 in the fastline fleet (obviously never all operational at the same time ) so surely there is no need to keep going to view the same engines on the same train at the same station?

Personally I couldn't think of anything much more boring than freezing on the end of a platform to watch a type 5 go by and could think of other productive things to do with my time but personal opinions and all that fair enough if thats what you want to do.

Never really been bothered by the platform ending part of the hobby, don't mind the odd lineside move, did that at Chinnor and for one of the Anglian RHTT's and was a good laugh as i was with some mates, we found a tennis ball for amusement at Chinnor and were kept busy by cows chasing us at Reedham

Same tbh, I don't mind linesiding with mates, but otherwise I'm more into the on-train and in-cab stuff.

Because it generally beats a class 66 and nowadays I like the peace and quiet and you know it's isn't cold all year around lol.
Yesterday was great waited and 302 on time follwed by 47237.
The best part is taking the shot then watching these amazing loco's go past and that's the same for the 56.


But without sounding rude don't you get fed up of class 37's?????
I mean have you every dare I say it gone after some spoon bashing???
