Class 50s on the Severn Valley Railway

I am very excited (in a big kid way) as I am going to be driving a class 50 on a footplate experience on the SVR

How many 50s does the SVR have?
Which ones?
What liveries do they carry?

Any info much appreciated!

The Class 50 Alliance (The Fifty Fund and Project Defiance) have four class 50s in all, nominally based at Kidderminster.

50 031 "Hood" (large logo livery)
50 035 "Ark Royal" (Loadhaul livery, as 50 135)
50 044 "Exeter" (BR blue)
50 049 "Defiance" (large logo)

35 is currently u/s with a suspected seized traction motor and is away at Cardiff Canton, together with 44 - currently the only one out on the main line. 49 has been undergoing overhaul at Canton, not sure of current status. AFAIK only 31 is currently at the SVR.

It was indeed 50 031 Hood, in large logo livery!

The diesel driving experience on the SVR was brilliant. Excellently delivered by the team there and very much recommended by me!

Driver experience at the Valley is excellent - I did D821 last year. Brilliant day out.

Brilliant isn't Foxhound? I loved the whole experience - especially the bits where I was told to open up the throttle to full power - awesome!
