Class 504 to Heywood

That is a link to a picture of a Class 504, can anyone tell me why the Destination says Heywood?
It looks like its in BR blue and im not aware the 504's carried this livery in Preservation.

The destination probably says Heywood becoase that's what it was wound round to read.

On the original pic in 2005, what was missing from the pic was the crompton on the other end I think.
